Special Olympics Day at Ysgol Clywedog

    RD on 04/07/12

On Saturday 30th June a Special Olympics badminton tournament was held at Clywedog High School in Wrexham.

Around 40 people with learning disabilities took part in various sections including men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles.

Working alongside Mike Parry, Wrexham Sport Development Disability Officer and Special Olympics Wales, the tournament saw some excellent play in a good natured environment and a fun day was had by all.

Local MP Ian Lucas was on hand to present medals to all competitors at the end of the tournament.

A big thanks must go to John Steele, Nathan Stewart, Robert Jones, Saksham Bansal and Dylan Gallanders who volunteered to help umpire and ensured smooth transistion between games.
