2012 Yonex Welsh International

Raj Popat still heads up the Welsh men’s singles ranking despite suffering an Achilles injury back in August. Daniel Font is in second position with Michael Kinnear third. Michael has had a great start to the season winning all 3 WSS competitions and also having some good results in English events.

In the ladies singles Carissa Turner remains at No 1 with doubles partner Sarah Thomas at No 2. Vikki Jones and Aimee Moran are in 3rd and 4th position respectively.

Font and Gwilt head up the men’s doubles ranking. The winners of the Irish Future Series event have had a good season in their 2nd year on the European tour. Following closely on their heels is the new partnership of Joe Morgan and Nic Strange who have enjoyed success in both the Icelandic and Slovakia Future Series. In the ladies doubles, way out in front still are Carissa Turner and Sarah Thomas. The girls have had many good results during the year, most noticeably runners up in the 2012 Slovenian International.

The newly formed partnership of Oliver Gwilt and Sarah Thomas top the mixed rankings at the end of 2012 with some good performances on the European tour. In a tough discipline the pair will hope to gain some good results in 2013.

Rankings are updated on the first Thursday of every month and can be found by visiting the Player Rankings page.
