After the highs of the Commonwealth Games it was back to the day job for Dan Font who started his 14/15 campaign at the Badminton England Lancashire Senior Gold. Font had a comfortable passage until meeting 4th seed Alex Marritt to whom he had lost in the Scottish Open in 2013. This time Font was the winner in straight games which then took him to a semi-final match against top seed Rhys Walker. A slow start saw Font lose game one to 13 but a spirited fight back saw him nearly take the match to three sets losing to 19 in the second. Walker then went on to take the title in a mammoth match against Sam Parson, another England rising star. Font now goes to Belgium for this weekend's International event.
