Over 220 children from four local primary schools took part in a community day organised by Sport Inspired in conjunction with Lloyds Bank. The children were from Penybryn Primary, Bryn Hafod Primary, Rumney Primary and Bryn Celyn Primary schools.  The children were split into 16 teams and rotated around the different sports.  The sports included badminton, netball, boccia, volleyball, football, cricket and taekwondo.  The children worked as a team and competed in the different sports gaining points for competing and also points for team spirit.  Lloyds Bank provided the volunteers for the day to help out with the activities.

The badminton session included freestyle keepy-ups and a fun game of throwminton.  All of the children thoroughly enjoyed it and were given details of the Eastern Hub session that runs every Monday 4.30pm - 5.30pm.

One child commented, "I enjoyed the badminton session as I hadn't tried it before".  Volunteer Amy from Lloyds Bank said, "days like this are really good as it gives the children the opportunity to try sports that they may not usually try."
