Development - BISI Training

The rural Vale BISI teacher training course was held on Monday 30th September at Y Bont Faen Primary School in Cowbridge.  Seven Vale primary schools attended the course.  These included Y Bont Faen, Ysgol Iolo Morgannwg, Llangan, St Athan, Llansannor, St Brides Major, Pendoylan and also an officer from the URDD.

The course was very fun and informative, with the candidates receiving training on how to use the BISI resource effectively, how to manage large groups of children, how to manage groups with different abilities and badminton skills.

The candidates participated in different activities and also delivered activities.  All candidates enjoyed the course and are looking forward to getting started on the sessions during their PE lessons.  Mentoring is also offered for those who participated to help with the introduction of the initiative into their schools.

These schools have now been invited to attend the multi skills festival that will be held on the 20th November at Penarth Leisure Centre where the children can come along and participate in a competitive element of badminton.
