Tsung Fong Mo and Gean Sou Mo won both singles and the mixed doubles titles at the Cardiff WSS last weekend. In the mixed doubles final they triumphed against Andrew Ashburner and Helen Sanders 15/8 15/6. Ashburner and Sanders had good wins on route to the final defeating Rich Morrissey and Carla White and Matthew Pritchard and Sophie Arrighi.
Tsung Fong Mo added a first WSS singles title to his name, beating Dom Brown in an epic 3 set final 11/15, 15/13, 15/13. Mo defeated 1st seed Chris Pickard at the semi-final stage, with Dom Brown taking down both Gorell Brothers on route to the final.
There were a few withdrawals in the ladies singles which resulted in there being a straight final between Gean Sou Mo and Kelly Saunders. This time around it was Gean Sou who prevailed, winning 15/11, 15/11.
In the men’s doubles Sam Gorell partnered brother Ben to lift the men’s doubles title defeating Dom Brown and Darren Wong in the final 16/18, 15/12, 15/8. The experienced pair of Judith Hughes and Carla White picked up the Ladies Doubles title. There was a tight match for 2nd position. Gean Sou Mo and Sarah Lai saw off Kelly Saunders and Sophie Arrighi 17/15 in the 3rd set to claim the runner-up prize.
